Summary
The story of the mental degeneration of the mother of the protagonist is matched up with the horrific landscape of the mass graves that she is discovering throughout the country in her work as a forensic anthropologist. The author tells us the reflections of a woman facing imminent oblivion: that of a decaying brain and the disregard for the thousands of victims in the most recent internal war in Colombia.

Author´s biography

Marcela Villegas (Manizales, 1973). She studied Agronomy, an MSc in Environmental Studies, and a MA in Creative Writing; for a while she worked as a researcher on topics of sustainable development. In 2008, she became a writer and editor of textbooks for teaching Spanish and a legal English translator. This novel won the Javeriana University Short Novel Award.
