Lina Flórez and Pablo Pérez. They are founders of Altais Cómics, a group dedicated to the production and the promotion of comics in Colombia. They have led projects like a database of Colombian comics creators, the research project Incognitas, among others. Flórez and Pérez created the graphic novel Emilia (Cohete Cómics, 2019) and Crónicas de una mujer de 1,49 (FCE, 2018), both books about Emilia Pardo Umaña, one of the first female journalists in Colombia.
Lina Flórez studied psychology in Universidad de San Buenaventura and journalism in Universidad de Antioquia. She has participated in various interdisciplinary research projects about Historic Memory, Cultural Memory and Women in History. She co authored Haydée Eastman Calderón a through and through story, a research and exhibit that won the 2018 Grant of Arts and Culture for Research-Creation projects for the promotion of Historic Heritage of Public Library Piloto sponsored by the Secretary of Citizens Culture of Medellín.
Pablo Pérez studied journalism in Universidad de Antioquia and is a comics creator and illustrator. He has created comics for Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica, magazines like El Malpensante, Soho and Semana and the newspaper El Espectador. He co authored El momento fatal, an interview with Joe Sacco, a comic that won the 2018 Premio Nacional de Periodismo Simón Bolívar for Best Interview. In 2019 he published Cuentico Amarillo: Libros Leídos Pequod.
